Gemuetlichkeit Days 2014 Bed Race Rules
Teams:
Each team must consist of five members. All participants must be 16 years and older to participate.

Beds and Safety:
Beds must be equipped with a braking system and capable of being steered. If a team does not have a bed, they will have an option to rent one for $10.00. Please inform the Bed Races contact person if you would like to rent a bed. If a team has any questions regarding their bed, they should direct those questions to the contact person listed below. We recommend that participants take necessary personal safety measures; such as, wearing helmets, elbow and knee pads.
Theme Participation:
Teams are encouraged to decorate their beds and dress in accordance with the Gemuetlichkeit Days theme. Teams will be judged on adherence to the theme and originality. The winning team will receive a mantle-worthy trophy and sweet, sweet bragging rights.
Paperwork:
All team members are required to read and sign this document regarding the rules, along with the attached Waiver. Both documents must be turned in, along with the entry and/or bed rental fee (if applicable) at registration before the races begin. Any team failing to complete both documents will not be permitted to race. **Please be prompt to fill out the registration paperwork at 10:30 am on Sunday.**
The Race:
The race will consist of paired time trials. The team to satisfactorily complete the course in the shortest amount of time will be awarded first place. The two teams with the next best times will be awarded second and third place respectively.
The course will contain three or four obstacles/stations, each having their own challenges. Teams that do not accomplish these tasks in an acceptable manner (subject to judge’s discretion) will be given time penalties to be added to their time at the end of the race.
**All teams are required to assemble in front of the judge station next the Carnegie building after registration. A brief overview of the race and the station activities will be revealed at that time.
**Drivers are not required to switch at each station. Teams can keep the same driver during the race; however, the driver will be required to jump off the bed and participate in the station activities.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Sara Wollin at (920) 674-4340 or by email at swollin640@gmail.com. Thank you.
